چکیده

Invasive alien plants that damagingly overgrow native ecosystems can be beneficially used to produce natural dyes. Natural dyes are healthier and more environmentally friendly than synthetic dyes, so their use on textiles other products come into contact with humans is desirable. In this study, the possibility of using a dye extracted from purple petals invasive plant Impatiens glandulifera Royle (Himalayan balsam) for screen printing various substrates; woven fabrics different papers made virgin fibers, recycled fibers Japanese knotweed, was investigated. The prints were evaluated by color measurements fastness properties. With violet extract, purple-brown obtained brown substrates. They had excellent rub but faded significantly when exposed light. wash cotton moderate poor polyester fabrics, good resistance wet ironing. addition acid paste resulted in lighter color, alkali caused drastic change green, both additives increased light reduced treatments.

Allelopathic Potential of the Invasive Alien Himalayan Balsam (Impatiens glandulifera Royle)

Investigations were carried out into the allelopathic potential of the invasive alien annual Himalayan Balsam (Impatiens glandulifera Royle) using a series of bioassays, including ones developed or adapted for this study. They were evaluated for their suitability to detect three of the four main modes of allelochemical release, namely leaching, exudation and decomposition. Assays which involved...

Separation and identification of 1,2,4-trihydroxynaphthalene-1-O-glucoside in Impatiens glandulifera Royle.

Methanolic extract from lyophilized roots of Impatiens glandulifera Royle was analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography using DAD and FLD detection and this revealed one dominant highly fluorescent very unstable substance. The stability of this derivative is strongly dependent on the plant material drying procedure and extraction procedure used. The structure of the substance was estab...

Natural dyes extracted from black carrot and bramble for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

Two different natural dyes containing anthocyanin extracted from black carrot and bramble from Iran. Spectrophotometric evaluations of the natural dyes in solution and on a TiO2 substrate were carried out in order to assess changes in the status of the natural dyes. The results show that the natural dyes indicate buthochromic shift on the TiO2 substrates. The chemical adsorption of natural dyes...

Functional Dyeing of Wool with Natural Dye Extracted from Berberis vulgaris Wood and Rumex Hymenosepolus Root as Biomordant

In this study, a functional colorant, Berberine, extracted from Berberis vulgaris wood was applied onto wool fiber using the extract of roots of Rumex Hymenosepolus as biomordant. The effect of treatment variables on the color strength of dyed fibers was examined. The fastness properties of dyed wool against washing, light, dry and wet rubbing were evaluated. Dyed samples were tested for an...

Ink-Jet Printing Cotton with Cationic Reactive Dye Based Inks

The current commercial application of ink-jet reactive inks to cotton fabrics has been through pre-treating with pad liquor prior to printing. In This study made an effort to provide a single phase ink-jet printing process for printing cotton fabric using the novel cationic reactive dye in ink’s formulation. Cotton fabric was printed upon with the novel cationic reactive dye and commercial anio...
